The Philippine Association of Water Districts Conference is held annually bringing up constant coordination and mutual dealings with fellow water districts nationwide. For the first time in its 42 years of celebration, the PAWD Conference was held in a virtual platform, in keeping up with the current times brought about by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

With the theme “Embracing the New Normal in Water and Sanitation,” the virtual conference featured presentations, learning sessions, and leadership talks discussed by some of the most prominent and distinguised leaders of the country; Atty. Maria Anthonette Velasco-Allones and the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel, Panelo Salvador Panelo, to name a few.

The Master of Ceremony, GM. Ma. Socorro Ester R. Paluga of the Valencia City Water District, set the mood and heightened the energy of the program as she presented with full colors the grand culture of the Province of Bukidnon. In the production number presented by the VCWD together with the Quezon Bukidnon Water District and Manolo Fortich Water District, the virtual participants were left mesmerized as the production presented the grand plateau, breathtaking scenic views, and richness of the culture of Bukidnon through a tribal dance and ethnic song.

Indeed, the success of the first virtual 42nd PAWD National Convention was the result of the collective efforts of all the participating Water Districts. This depicts that amid the changing times, nothing stops the celebration of the union and fellowship of the Water Districts – may it be across borders and distances, or across virtual platforms and spaces.
